MW Magazine Bangladesh in collaboration with Maya has recently hosted a poetic monsoon celebration titled ‘Maya – Badal Diner Pratham Kadam Phul’ at the Sheraton Hotel in Dhaka.
The event was a tapestry of song, poetry, and the quiet beauty of Bengal’s most romantic season, said a press release on Saturday.
The event featured a solo musical performance by singer Shama Rahman and a recitation by actor and director Afzal Hossain.
The evening featured remarks from the editor and publisher of MW Magazine Bangladesh, Rumana Chowdhury, and CEO of Square Toiletries Limeitd, Malik Mohammed Sayeed.
Rumana Chowdhury shared that the innocent joy of getting drenched in the rain during childhood, the heart stirred by stormy winds, and the image of holding a rain-soaked kodom phul while drifting into imagination quietly invite us to open the chest of memory. ‘In those moments, a soft hum, a tune, or a familiar song begins to echo in our ears. That is the spirit we tried to capture in today’s event.’
Malik Mohammed Sayeed spoke about Maya’s core philosophy and its deep commitment to Bangla art and cultural heritage. ‘Maya is not just a skincare brand; it is a celebration of beauty rooted in nature’s purity and the timeless aesthetics of Bangla.’
He shared that most of Maya’s ingredients are sourced from the renowned herbal village of Natore.
The event was graced by several eminent personalities, including Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman, Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam, businessman Anjan Chowdhury, writer Anisul Hoque, actors Zahid Hasan and Chanchal Chowdhury, AK Azad, Malik Mohammed Sayeed, architect Mustapha Khalid Palash, and cultural patron Abul Khair Litu. Also present were actors Arifin Shuvo, Afsan Ara Bindu and Runa Khan and many more.
The event was managed by Sun Communications Ltd.
The programme is scheduled to be broadcast on Maasranga Television at 10:30pm today.
