Industries adviser Adilur Rahman Khan on Monday inaugurated National Halal Laboratory equipped with international standard gadgets at Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution.
He also inaugurated the first Helmet Testing Laboratory in Bangladesh to ensure the quality of the helmets of the drivers and riders.
Adilur Rahman Khan inaugurated the laboratories as chief guest at a function organised at BSTI in the capital.
In his speech, Adilur said that the establishment of the National Halal Laboratory was an important imitative of the government to increase export potential of Bangladesh.
At the inaugural function, a discussion was also held at the BSTI conference room.
At the discussion, Adilur said that the demand for halal products was increasing day by day all over the world.
‘In such a reality, BSTI’s journey towards halal certification and the establishment of a National Halal Laboratory in the institution is a timely decision,’ he added.
He also urged all concerned to verify whether the BSTI logo and QR code are attached to the helmet before buying, selling and usage.
