The chief adviser’s press wing said on Friday that the authorities concerned were actively considering allowing a female candidate who was unable to take this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate examination on the first day to retake the exam.
Earlier, as per different social media posts, Anisa Ahmed was unable to take the HSC exam on Thursday at the government Mirpur Bangla College centre in the capital due to a delay in taking her sick mother to hospital and entering the exam centre.
As per a press wing release, the education adviser to interim government professor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar said, ‘The student’s issue is being taken seriously on humanitarian grounds.’
‘Initiatives are being taken to resolve the issue of taking the Bangla First Paper exam following the laws and rules regarding public examinations,’ he said, adding, ‘We also sympathise with her during her difficult time.’
The adviser also requested the examinee not to worry.
Earlier on Thursday, this year’s HSC and its equivalent exams started across the country.
According to different social media posts, the candidate’s father is no longer alive.
On Thursday morning, her mother suffered a major stroke and since there was no one in the family, the girl had to take her mother to the hospital.
From hospital, she had to rush to the exam centre at Mirpur Government Bangla College.
When Anisa was not being allowed to enter the exam centre for delay she started to cry in front of the centre.
Anisa, however, was not allowed to enter the exam hall and take the exam.
Many people expressed their anger after the matter circulated on social media.
