Nearly 23 people were killed daily on average in road accidents in June this year, according to a report published by the Road Safety Foundation on Wednesday.
At least 696 people were killed and 1,867 more were injured in 689 road accidents in the month, the report added.
Compared with the month of May, the rate of fatalities increased in June by 22.55 per cent, as per the report by the non-government organisation working for passengers’ rights and safety.
In the same month, the report added, 21 people were killed and 13 others were injured in 18 waterways accidents, and 44 people were killed and 25 others injured in 53 railways accidents.
The report was prepared on the basis of news published by different media outlets, said a press release issued by the Road Safety Foundation.
