A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by his rivals over previous enmity at Dakatia village in Jashore Sadar upazila yesterday.

The deceased is Chanchal Gazi, son of Madhu Gazi of the village.

Quoting locals, Kotwali Model Police Station OC Abul Hasnat said Chanchal and his father Madhu Gazi had an enmity with their neighbour Rabiul.

Chanchal locked into an altercation with Rabiul, Billal and two others around 10:45am.

At one stage, Rabiul stabbed Chanchal with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

Rabiul and Madhu were also injured during the attack. They were taken to the hospital.

On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
