Abahani Limited take on Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the second quarter-final of the Independence Cup 2023 at the Birshreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj today.

The match will begin at 6:30pm while the day’s first quarter-final between Police Football Club and Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society will begin at 2:30pm at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the city.

Two-time champions Abahani advanced to the last-eight of the competition as four-team Group B winners after identical 2-0 margin wins over Air Force Team, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, and Rahmatganj MFS.

On the other hand, Rahmatganj MFS finished as group runners-up after a goalless draw against Sk Russel and a 4-1 win against Air Force.

Sk Jamal finished as three-team Group A runners-up after a thumping 4-0 win over Brothers Union while suffering a 0-1 loss against group champions Police FC, who beat Brothers 2-0 in the other game of the group.

In the other two quarter-finals of the 13-team tournament, Group C champions Mohammedan Sporting Club will face Group D runners-up Chittagong Abahani in Munshiganj, while the holders and Group D champions Bashundhara Kings play Group C runners-up Bangladesh Armey at the Kings Arena on Tuesday.

The semi-finals are scheduled to be held at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj and at the Kings Arena on December 15.

The final of the 14th edition of the tournament will be held in Gopalganj on December 18.
