Population Services and Training Centre, an organisation committed to the advancement of sexual and reproductive health and rights, has been recognised as a member association of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, says a press release.

PSTC’s membership was finally approved at the IPPF board meeting held in London on June 20. Earlier, it was approved by the IPPF membership committee.

The IPPF director general Alvaro Bermejo formally informed PSTC governing body chairperson Sanjida Islam of the matter in a letter.

PSTC executive director Nur Mohammed said, ‘This recognition is a strong reflection of our SRHR commitment, accountability and team effort. In just 21 months, we have completed the journey - from collaboration to membership, which is a matter of pride for all of us.’

As an IPPF member, PSTC is now part of a strong global SRHR network, which works in more than 140 countries. This will provide PSTC with greater access to knowledge, technical support and the opportunity to share experiences on an international scale.

The PSTC aims to move forward in implementing its 2025–2030 strategic plan in accordance with the IPPF Strategy 2028, ensuring health and rights for the people of Bangladesh with a focus on innovation, inclusion, and impact.
