Unidentified miscreants set fire to three buses in three places – Gabtali, Agargaon and Sayedabad areas – of Bangladesh capital Dhaka Saturday night. 

No casualty was reported.


In Gabtoli, a bus of ‘Padma Line’ was set on fire at about 11.10pm, Fire Service and Civil Defense officials said.

The bus was set on fire at the Gabtoli Bus Terminal, said Shahjahan Sikder, deputy assistant director at the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters (media cell).

On information, two firefighting units from Kallyanpur Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire, he said.

In Agargaon, a bus of ‘Bhuyan Paribahan’ was set on fire in front of Agargaon Betar Building at 11.00pm, he said.

He said that two firefighting units from Mohammadpur Fire Station rushed to the spot immediately and doused the fire.

Another bus was set on fire Sayedabad area at about 10:50pm and locals doused the fire before reaching the firefighters, the fire service headquarters’ control room said.
