After the Magura court delivered its verdict on Magura child rape and murder, the victim's mother expressed dissatisfaction over the acquittal of the three accused from the charges.
"I am not happy. All three of them might do the same thing (to others) after being released -- what will happen then?" she said, expressing her frustration.
Asked whether she was satisfied with the verdict, she responded firmly, "I am not satisfied. The three deserved punishment, as they assisted in the murder and concealed information."
The aggrieved mother left the court premises alone, while the prosecutors were briefing the media.
A Magura tribunal this morning sentenced the prime accused, Hitu Sheikh, to death for the brutal rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl.
Hitu's wife Jaheda Begum, 38, and his sons -- Ratul Sheikh, 18, and Sajib Sheikh, 20, -- were acquitted from the charges as allegations brought against them could not be proven, said Public Prosecutor Monirul Islam Mukul.
Judge M Zahid Hasan of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Magura pronounced the verdict.
