1,042 hospitalised over 24 hours

At least nine dengue patients died in 24 hours till 8:00am today -- the highest number of deaths reported in a day this year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), among the deaths, seven were reported from Dhaka South City Corporation areas and one each from Dhaka North City Corporation and Chattogram division.

Meanwhile, 1,042 patients were hospitalised across the country during this period.

With the new deaths and cases, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year rose to 212, while total cases rose to 49,907.

Among the total cases, a total of 47,256 dengue patients have been released so far after treatment.

Currently, 2,439 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country, 1,652 of which are from outside Dhaka.
