Sacked members of Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force protesting for the reinstatement of their jobs cordoned Bangladesh Army representatives at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place at about 4:00pm and continued till filing the report at about 6:00pm.


Protesters said that they would not leave the place until their demands were fulfilled.

Addressing reporters following an hour-long meeting with the protesters, Bangladesh Army Brigadier General Aminur Rahman said that they were scrutinising the applications and would resolve the issue at the soonest.

He also asked protesters to be patient.

The protesters began the demonstration in front of the National Press Club at about 12:00noon.

The police intercepted their march towards Shaheed Jahangir Gate and army representatives came to the press club at about 2:00pm to hold the meeting.
