Three men wounded by gunfire in Gopalganj during clashes surrounding the National Citizen Party's rally have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
They are Sumon Biswas, 25, Ramzan Munshi, 28, and Abbas Ali Sarkar, 30.
“They have been admitted to the hospital and are undergoing treatment,” said Inspector Md Faruk, chief of the DMCH Police Outpost.
Sumon's mother Nipa Biswas said her son works for a beverage distribution company. He was shot while transporting goods on Wednesday in the Shishu Bon area of Gopalganj Sadar. She said bullets hit him above his right hip and on the fingers of his right hand.
Meanwhile, Ramzan was shot in the Launch Ghat area of Gopalganj Sadar. His brother Imran Munshi said Ramzan drives an autorickshaw. He was shot while on duty. Bullets struck him above the right wrist and under his right arm.
Abbas Ali, also an autorickshaw driver, was injured in the Launch Ghat area. He was brought to DMCH around 2:00am.
His wife Rahima Begum said Abbas was shot above his left knee while driving his vehicle.
