Azmeri Haque Badhan, for her performance in "Rehana Maryam Noor" bagged the 'Best Actress' award at the 37th edition of the Valencia International Film Festival–Cinema Jove.

The Abdullah Mohammad Saad directorial project also won the 'Best Film' award at the festival which concluded today.

The film was selected in the official selection round at the Spanish festival held in Valencia. Badhan took to her Facebook, sharing the news. The post reads—"We received two awards for our film at Cinema Jove for the categories of best film and best actress. It is a huge honour for the entire team. This will inspire us a lot." The actress also thanked the festival organisers and the jury for granting the awards.

The 'Best Actress' award was jointly given to actress Yerbolat Alkozha, for the Kazakhstani film "Happiness".

The festival kicked off on June 24.

Yet another achievement for "Rehana Maryam Noor", which began its journey as the first Bangladeshi film to be featured in the Un Certain Regard section of the 74th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival.

The film kept receiving invitations to international festivals including three nominations at the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) and Malaysian Golden Global Award (MGGA), including a nomination in the 'Best Film' category at the festival.

Azmeri Haque Badhan bagged the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival award, the 19th Telecine awards and Meril Prothom-alo Award 2021 for her outstanding performance in the film.
