A businessman was hacked to death by miscreants at Begumganj upazila in Noakhali on Friday.
The deceased was Dulal Chandra Das, 50, a resident of Tongir Par area of Begumganj.
Dulal and his bother started fish farming two years ago at a pond adjacent to Kali temple in Tongir Par area and, he used to guard the pond every night.
When Dulal was guarding the pond on Friday night, miscreants killed him by stabbing from head to face and neck.
The police sent the body to the Noakhali General Hospital for post mortem on Saturday.
Mir Jahedul Haque Roni, Begumganj police station officer-in-charge, said that Dulal was killed between 2:00am and 3:00am on Friday.
‘So far, the police have not arrested anyone in this incident. We are working to unravel the mystery of the murder,’ he added.
