Says unapproved drones can create panic among city dwellers, hamper public security
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on flying any unapproved remote controlled devices or drone in the capital’s sky.
“No drone or remote control devices will be allowed to fly in the sky of the capital without the permission from Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB),” said a press release signed by DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia.
“Some people or groups are flying drones over the capital’s sky for recreation or capturing photographs or unknown reasons without taking permission of the authority concerned. But, flying drones without permission is a punishable offense as per law,” it added.
The release mentioned that the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) is the sole authority to give permission of flying drones.
“Besides, unapproved drones can create panic among the city dwellers along with hampering public security,” the released added.
