Veteran actor Shivaji Satam, best known for his portrayal of ACP Pradyuman in the long-running television series "CID", has made a return to the show after a brief absence, following fan backlash over his character's apparent death in a recent episode.

In a dramatic twist, ACP Pradyuman was shown falling victim to a bomb explosion during a high-stakes operation—marking what appeared to be his final appearance in the series. 

The sequence coincided with the introduction of actor Parth Samthaan as a new lead character, ACP Ayushman.

However, the decision to write off the iconic character was met with widespread criticism online. 

Fans took to social media in protest, calling for Satam's return and expressing discontent with the show's creative direction.

In response, the makers have brought Satam back on board. Parth Samthaan shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the actor on set via Instagram Stories, calling it a thrilling experience to work alongside him. 

Meanwhile, Satam fuelled speculation by posting the character's signature line "Kuch toh gadbad hai?"—a phrase long associated with the show.

Samthaan had recently unveiled his look as ACP Ayushman, expressing his excitement about joining "CID" and calling it a dream project. He also reflected on the legacy of the series and its impact on Indian television.

The mystery surrounding ACP Pradyuman's 'death' stems from an episode involving a mission to apprehend the antagonist Barboza, portrayed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. 

Although an explosion was shown, the lack of definitive visuals and a tribute graphic posted by Sony TV—reading "End of an Era - ACP Pradyuman (1998–2025)"—left viewers questioning the finality of the storyline.

With Satam's return now confirmed, audiences await the upcoming episodes with renewed anticipation.
