Two full-length feature films, a short film and a documentary from Bangladesh, were selected in the Delhi based Indus Valley International Film Festival (IVIFF).

The Masud Pathik directorial government granted film Maya the Lost Mother was nominated in the feature film category, while Nolok directed by Sakib Sonet was nominated in the popular category as a commercial film. On the other hand, Mejanur Rahman Labu directorial Mala Bhabi has been selected for the short film category and the documentary Qasida of Dhaka, directed by Anarya Murshid, has also been nominated to be screened in the festival.

Monjurul Islam Megh, Bangladeshi coordinator of IVIFF, spoke about the programme.  "We had sent a few films, among which these four were selected. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the festival will be held online from August 1 to 9. It is an honour for us to have our films screened in an international platform," he said.

A number of Bangladeshi artistes and directors will attend the online discussions.

The festival will open with the preview of Bollywood film Pataakha, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and the closing movie will be the Nandita Das directorial Manto.
