The government has deputed Major General Mohd Hossain Al Morshed as next director general of National Security Intelligence days after long serving Major General TM Jobair was withdrawn to the Bangladesh Army on March 31.

The public administration ministry on Tuesday issued the order confirming the new appointment of Major General Morshed to one of two leading intelligence agencies.

Prior to the new appointment, Major General Morshed of 26th BMA Long Course served as a faculty at the National Defence College in Bangladesh Army.

TM Jobair served as DG of National Security Intelligence between 2018 and 2024 and more years in different capacities in counter terrorism affairs. The officials said he was set to retire.
