One of the founders of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshti and former president of the cultural organization, Golam Mohammad Idu, died at hospital in the capital Friday evening.
He was 87.
‘He was suffering from pneumonia and was admitted to Health and Hope Hospital in Dhaka on December 17. He died on Friday evening,’ Udichi general secretary Amit Ranjan Dey told New Age.
He said that they had primarily planned to keep his body in front of the Udichi on Saturday, he said.
The leading cultural activist was born on February 25, 1936.
He was the president of Udichi Shilpigoshti between 2008 and 2012.
