According to the police investigation, Akhi had relationships with both Rabby and Shahriar

A female student of Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College in Dhaka has reportedly committed suicide, by jumping off the college building on Saturday evening.

The deceased was identified as Akhi Akter, an HSC student of the college.  

"Akhi jumped from the third floor of the college building and died," confirmed Sutrapur police station Sub-inspector (SI) Lalin Biswash.

"Later, her dead body was sent to Mitford hospital morgue for autopsy," he added.

Sutrapur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Wazed Ali said they detained two students, Rabby and Shahrier, as part of their investigation. 

He said: "After primary interrogation, we found out that Akhi had a relationship with the two of them. 

"On Saturday, Akhi, Rabby and Shahriar talked among each other about their relationship when Akhi suddenly jumped from the building."

When asked about Rabby and Shahriar's involvement in politics or Akhi's harassment, OC Wazed said: "They have no political identity. We have collected the CCTV footage and saw the girl killed herself by jumping from the building."

 However, the investigation is still underway, he concluded.
