In a recent resurgence in Hollywood, veteran rocker-actors are returning on stage to perform with their bands. Last week it was Keanu Reeves and this time, Johnny Depp.
The Hollywood icon took to the stage this Thursday in Romania, to perform with his band Hollywood Vampires. This marks the start of the European leg of their tour, which had been delayed due to Depp's ankle injuries.
While on stage, Depp celebrated his 60th birthday on a bittersweet note. On one hand, fans wished him "Happy Birthday" by singing the song in unison, which left Depp emotional. He then pushed aside his grief to perform David Bowie's song "Heroes", dedicating it to his late friend Jeff Beck, who passed away earlier this year.
Jeff and Johnny had become friends in 2016, over their mutual interest in cars and music. They had also collaborated together on an album called "18", that was released in late 2022.
