A roundtable discussion titled ‘Modern treatment methods for piles and colorectal diseases and increasing public awareness’ was held on Wednesday at the Alliance Colorectal and Biofeedback Center, a sister concern of Alliance Hospital Limited, at Shyamoli in Dhaka.
Experts at the event stressed that piles are preventable, treatable, and should not be viewed with shame, noting that early-stage patients can often recover without surgery through proper medical care, said a press release.
Physician and chest disease specialist Professor Rashidul Hasan attended the programme as chief guest, while specialist insights were shared by Professor SM Amzad Hossain, general and laparoscopic surgeon, Professor Md Mizanur Rahman, urologist and andrologist, Bilkis Mahmuda, obstetrics and gynaecology specialist, and Professor Md Mamunur Rahman, advanced laparoscopic, gastrointestinal, and general surgeon.
On the occasion of Piles Day, the keynote presentation was delivered by surgeons Ismat Jahan Lima, Professor Md Touhidul Islam, and Md Mejbahul Bahar.
Actress Dilara Zaman, former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Akram Khan, women’s national team cricketer Jannatul Ferdous Sumona, and film actor Abdun Noor Sajal were present.
Alliance Hospital representatives stated that the centre offers comprehensive 360-degree treatment facilities, including pain-free colonoscopy, endoscopy, and biofeedback therapy with male and female specialists.
