An elderly woman has been killed in a road accident in Dhaka.

The accident occurred at ShanirAkhra around 7pm on Monday.

The deceased Nurjahan Begum, 65, was a mother of three sons and a daughter.

The deceased's son, MdShahed said: “My mother was going to visit my sister's house at SanirAkhra when a bus of Mollah College hit her from behind. 

"Locals found Nurjahan in a critical condition, rushed her to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor pronounced her dead.

DMCH police outpost in-charge Inspector Bacchu Mia confirmed the matter.

The deceased's body was kept at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy, he added.
