The 12th Kyokushin Karate National Competition 2023 was held at the Sultana Kamal Mahila Sports Complex in Dhanmondi on Friday on the occasion of commemorating the 100th birthday of the renowned Grand Master Masutatsu Oyama.
Under the initiative of Bangladesh Kyukushin Karate Academy and under the supervision of Bangladesh Kyukushin Karate Association, the competition has been organised regularly in Bangladesh since 2003.
A total of 49 contestants from 15 districts and two upazilas of the country participated in five categories aged from seven years to 40.
In the children's category, Riyaduzzaman Anher secured the first position. Musa Abdullah and Aayan Reza Aolad placed second and third position respectively.
In the boy's category, Zayin Maruf Khan topped followed by Eesa Abdullah and Wahiduzzaman Sadman in second and third.
The girl's category saw Innaya Imam Hajjaj place first, with Meher Afrin Enni and Ayman Dara Nayantara coming in second and third respectively.
In the Women's (Open) category, Shrabosti Das secured the first position, while Bonolata Rahman and Ashfi Mehjabeen became second and third.
In Men's (Open) category, Mathew Ricky secured the top spot, while Zahiduzzaman Shihab and Shahriar Rahman secured the second and third places respectively.
