জ্ঞান-বুদ্ধি আর উত্তম উপদেশের মাধ্যমে তুমি (মানুষকে) তোমার প্রতিপালকের পথে আহবান জানাও আর লোকেদের সাথে বিতর্ক কর এমন পন্থায় যা অতি উত্তম। তোমার প্রতিপালক ভালভাবেই জানেন কে তাঁর পথ ছেড়ে গুমরাহ হয়ে গেছে। আর কে সঠিক পথে আছে তাও তিনি বেশি জানেন।
যদি তোমরা প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করতে চাও তবে ততটুকু প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ কর যতটুকু অন্যায় তোমাদের উপর করা হয়েছে। আর যদি তোমরা ধৈর্য ধারণ কর তবে ধৈর্যধারণকারীদের জন্য অবশ্যই তা উত্তম।
তুমি ধৈর্য ধারণ কর, তোমার ধৈর্য তো কেবল আল্লাহ ব্যতীত নয়, ওদের কার্যকলাপে তুমি দুঃখিত হয়ো না, আর ওদের ষড়যন্ত্র করার কারণে অন্তরে কুণ্ঠাবোধ করো না।
যারা তাক্বওয়া অবলম্বন করে আর সৎকর্মশীল, আল্লাহ তো তাদেরই সঙ্গে আছেন।

Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.
And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient.
And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.
Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.
