A new mobile phone application called 'GoMedKit' has been launched, aiming to deliver medicines to the customers within 59 minutes, reports UNB. 

State minister for Information and Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the new app at a ceremony held at the Waterfall Convention Center in the city on Monday night.

Addressing the event, Zunaid Ahmed Palak said," Health care has now reached the doorsteps of rural people through community clinics. And now it's time for tele medicine."

Combining the internet with education does something great and the real example of which is 'GoMedKit', he said adding, "This year, the prime minister has set a budget of Tk 100 crore for startups. We will have all the support we need to help such local startups get acquainted with the global platform. There will be software and financial support."

Professor Shibli Rubaiyatul Islam said that this initiative of Dhaka University students Sohanur Rahman and Sourav Azam will benefit many in busy city Dhaka.

"It is necessary to launch such service everywhere to meet the urgent need. In this age of information technology, the country will continue to innovate one after another," he said.

Sohanur Rahman said currently the service will be available for 24 hours in Dhaka city and gradually it will be launched across the country.
