Bangladesh Nationalist Party sold 402 nomination papers to aspirant candidates when 858 others submitted their forms on Thursday at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan with thousands of party leaders and activists.
It was the fourth day of the five-day nomination selling programme organised by the party ahead of the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections rescheduled for December 30.
BNP started selling nomination paper from Monday, a day after its alliance Jatiya Oikya Front made an announcement to contest the polls.
In the past four days over 4000 nomination papers were sold, BNP officials said.
Except for Wednesday, the BNP activists with festive mood bought and submitted nomination forms.
But, the process halted for three hours on Wednesday afternoon as a clash was occurred between police and BNP activists.
BNP’s standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said they would interview the nomination seekers and finalise the candidates consulting with the party high-ups and partners of the Jatiya Oikya Front and BNP-led 20-party alliance.
