Bangladesh today sent medicine and other medical supplies to Nepal to help the South Asian nation under the Saarc Covid-19 emergency fund as a gesture of friendship.

Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen handed over Bangladesh-made Remdesivir injection, PPE, hand sanitisers and floor cleaners to Nepal Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Bongshidhar Mishra at the foreign ministry here, said a press release.

The Nepalese envoy lauded the Bangladesh government's timely actions in the fight against Covid-19, as well as the efficiency of Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies.

In March, the South Asian leaders formed 'The Saarc Covid-19 Emergency Fund' which is being implemented by the foreign ministry of the respective Saarc member states, while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina provided US 1.5 million dollars to the fund from Bangladesh.
