Bangladesh women’s A team in their first assignment will tour South Africa in July this year, followed by a home series against their Indian counterparts

The BCB’s intention to have a Bangladesh “A” team for the women cricketers is halfway in taking shape.

The BCB women’s wing think-tank, with intensive work from the national team coach Anju Jain and assistant coach Devika Palshikhar have already picked up players for the A team, and the rest are to come from the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Women’s Cricket League.

Bangladesh women’s A team in their first assignment will tour South Africa in July this year, followed by a home series against their Indian counterparts.

“Bangladesh women’s ‘A’ team will tour South Africa in July to play a bilateral series. India ‘A’ team will come to visit in Bangladesh to play another series in October,” said team operating manager of the BCB women’s wing, Nazmul Abedin Faheem, to the media.

“The second string team will then travel to Sri Lanka at end of October to play the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019, hosted by the Asian Cricket Council," the BCB official added.

The BCB is likely to finalize the squad before the Eid-ul-Fitr break, and start the camp following the holidays.
